Subject Article Entitled:"AIRASIA EXPECTS SALE SURGE"

Contents :

We refer to the letter dated 19/01/2006 from Bursa Malaysia to AirAsia Berhad ("AirAsia" or "the Company") which was received on 23/1/2006 titled: "AirAsia expects sale surge".

AirAsia wishes to clarify that the article that appeared in The Malay Mail, Mailmoney column on 19th January 2006 which stated that AirAsia’s relationship with Galileo International "may boost sales by 15% this year..." is a misquotation with the executive concerned actually estimating a 10-15% increase in booking transactions, which is an operational rather than financial estimate. As these transactions occur at a variety of prices and can often be cancelled or amended, there is no equivalent read through into sales growth. This should not be construed in any way as a financial projection.

This announcement is dated 24th January, 2006.
